The Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) is home to a variety of services and programs for Aboriginal people living in the urban setting. The VNFC Youth Department is one of the largest growing departments in the centre, and provides services and opportunities to youth between the ages of 13-24. Included in these services are: Rave Youth Drop-In Centre (ages 13-19), Youth Support Workers, Youth Addictions Team, Youth Council, Parent Mentors, and more!
About it: Dedicated to improving the quality of life for Aboriginal people in the Greater Victoria area, the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) began as a meeting place in the city—providing limited referral services to community members.
Programs: Support Programs for aboriginal families and students.
How to use this resource: This is a great organization for teachers to learn more about aboriginal perspectives and experience as well as enable them with tools to work with those students in their class.
